I take this gun to the range every week and I''ve let scores of people shoot it. Everybody who shoots it likes it. I took a first timer, for anything bigger than 22, and had him shooting bullseyes in less than 20 minutes. I''ve put well over Five Thousand rounds through it, in less than a year and it performs ]now that it is broken in[, even better than it did when I bought it!
Ruger''s customer service is good. I had a problem that developed over time with the slide release. So, I called them and they just sent me a new one, with a pre-paid envelope for the defective one.
I reload and my own bullets. Semi-automatics are pickier than revolvers are. After working at it for a while, my stuff feeds about 98 as well as factory ammo does and is about the same on accuracy. With a heavy slide and Ruger''s tank like construction, this gun is fine for pumping lots of ammo through. Yet, with the plastic frame, it is light enough for concealed carrying. Although, fully loaded, the gun weighs over two pounds. So, I carry it in a shoulder holster. I bought the Galco lite, that Ruger recommends on their website and that has worked out fine. ]With single gun carry, ramp the opposite side all the way up to your armpit and it won''t move around[. I''ve shot a whole lot of other guns and the only one that has seemed better than the Ruger to me, was an HK.
From here, I''d get a double action only semi-auto for carrying, if I wanted to spend the money, but I''m glad I started with both options, because I wanted to know my way around guns and I thought I was safer with a long Double Action pull on the first round. ]I started with a single-action 22 revolver, then went to a modern 357 revolver, then went to the Ruger. Recently, I bought a pocket gun the ruger LCR[.

I purchased this wanting a composite .45 but not wanting to go the route of a 1911 design. The stainless slide and internals are well machined, and mate well to the composite lower half. The balance is natural, the grip feels great and in action I''m much more consistent with this than I was expecting. During some live-fire CQB training, I consistently placed rounds on target from a variety of draws and positions, in both single and double action. I''ve fed a couple of thousand rounds through this so far ]ball[ and have yet to experience a single feed or eject problem. Breakdown is easy and field serviceability is excellent. I haven''t choked this up with a lot of dirt yet, so I''m not sure how it would perform after a thousand rounds w/o cleaning. I''d gladly rely on this as a service weapon and would buy another without hesitation.

I haven never been as happy with a handgun as I am with this one. It has the recoil of a light action 9mm, no more than that. I am very happy and it outshoots my ability every time. Does Ruger have a red dot sight for mounting on the Pictanny rail? I have tried others, but they just do not fit properly If I had one that would fit properly and give me the accuracy I need, there would be no better handgun the the world that I know of.
This handgun is unstoppable. I can probably hit any target ;withing 40 feet which would be what I need for self protection, but would reallyt like sights that helped me out a little.
Trigger pull etc., cannot be beaten. i am al;ways looking for bargains on ammo as I do not
reload. Keep in touch.
