I wanted a 1911-a1 style .45 auto to commemorate 100 years of service to Americas warfighters.I chose the Auto Ordnance 1911pkz because it is most like the sidearms we carried in the U.S.Navy during Vietnam.I purchased the U.S.M3 shoulder holster from Pacific canvas and leather in brown and have a military issue lanyard.
They keep the cost down on these guns by using a frame and slide,however if the United States had that technology in 1942,the 1911 pistols,the BAR and Thompson submachine guns would have all been made this way to speed production.
